MINIMAL
Focus on what matters most
The minimalist aesthetic is everywhere right now: a clean, uncluttered style referencing and updating mid-century modernism, but with a relaxed and beachy vibe for the 21st century. Black-and-white portraiture doesn't have to be formal and cold. By cutting down on color, we focus on what really counts: expression and connection. These portraits look stunning in a simple frame on a white wall. In a series, a cluster, or a single life-size print, a minimalist portrait will draw your eye and catch your heart.
I shoot most of my minimalist sessions against a white or black backdrop, though Bermuda's wonderfully textured old plaster or stone walls are also perfect for this type of look. Come to my light-flooded home in Smiths, or I can bring my backdrop and my vision to you. High contrast clothing and simple props, like the wooden crated used below to show scale, fit in best with this style.
I also have a bubble machine, and it's really fun!
